P 1-13 quickplay rules. Then skip through the special rules and simply pick the applicable ones.

What is needed is a points system. You can reverse engineer weapon costs, and perhaps stats to an extent - though if all troops are pretty similar (no super ninjas or aliens) it should be reasonably balanced anyway. evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-7695735531188842202015-01-07T05:07:30.373-08:002015-01-07T05:07:30.373-08:00Btw, there are a few Mordheim-style Infinity house...Btw, there are a few Mordheim-style Infinity house rules floating around the web, but the sort of guys who like that tend to be very creative, and end up going nuts with new skills and advancements. I.e.

http://www.reddinggamer.com/PDFs/Infinity%20Campaign%20System%202.0.pdf

...which ends up bearing little resemblence to the original game and can result in unforseen combos and abilities.

It might work if it was limited to say +1 in every stat, with no armour changes and maybe simply allow soldiers to upgrade only to weapons legally allowed anyway. Skills would only be mild/morale based ones like "Dogged" etc. But all in all, I'd prefer an official version, given how rigorously Corvus Belli tests everything.evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-91716993452382940052015-01-07T05:06:11.353-08:002015-01-07T05:06:11.353-08:00A stripped version for modern combat is something ...A stripped version for modern combat is something you could do and then share :)
I like 40k fluff (Heresy mostly) and wonder if it would be possible to play Infinity 40K...blacksmithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11131707654108494186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-79425796315157402372015-01-07T04:57:43.432-08:002015-01-07T04:57:43.432-08:00They sort of did it but botched it - you can only ...They sort of did it but botched it - you can only level up one mini, and get kinda "bonuses"that apply generally to your entire force. I think it was done for balance purposes.

Then the "campaign"was a series of linked missions i.e. you do A, then B, then C, then D.... more of a fixed story than a freeform system.

A pity, as Infinity is great from a gameplay point of view. I'd like to see a modern warfare version - they could strip out 99% of the special sci fi rules, and make it a much simpler, more approachable game. evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-57165090491492890152015-01-07T04:33:22.277-08:002015-01-07T04:33:22.277-08:00My main concern with Infinity is that it is a game...My main concern with Infinity is that it is a game like chess in which you play a match against an opponent but there is no continuity like in a campaign.
I wish there was something for Infinity like Necromunda...blacksmithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11131707654108494186noreply@blogger.com
