The rules are a bit hard to find stuff in (for a game I played so much, I don't think I've ever reviewed it.... hmmm)

Great gameplay though. evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-75409436655531249232015-01-09T12:26:35.888-08:002015-01-09T12:26:35.888-08:00My copy of TW just got delivered, and I am enjoyin...My copy of TW just got delivered, and I am enjoying devouring it!Paul O'Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08611720164170399684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-8084693486652317542015-01-06T18:14:51.898-08:002015-01-06T18:14:51.898-08:00Tomorrow's War uses a "grid" (i-war ...Tomorrow's War uses a "grid" (i-war network) which is similar to what you describe. It kinda buffs/debuffs your forces and a hi-tech force which relies on the "grid" can be impacted when it is jammed/off.

I haven't used it much, as I feel most times Tomorrow's War has enough going on (it looks/seems simple, but is quite involved to play.)evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-61102090664059343872015-01-06T17:47:14.732-08:002015-01-06T17:47:14.732-08:00Thanks for the review mate.

BUT what about some sort of system where you could have off table support options which could include cyber support. It would be interesting to have each side getting so many 'points' worth each turn as a resource to either conduct specific attacks, reinforce on table hacking attempts, a more widespread 'defensive' effort for the force, or attempt to shutdown the enemy off table cycler support. Could be interesting...
Seen that in any rules anywhere?Paul O'Ghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08611720164170399684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-50901703623803398192015-01-06T15:04:24.084-08:002015-01-06T15:04:24.084-08:00Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them! Completely different scale, different genre, but the same rules. This is where most of the awkwardness derives from, I believe. I also strongly suspect the author has a historical-only background.

In simple terms, it's like trying to play Tomorrow's War or Gruntz using DBA or Fields of Glory.

If you want to look at the basic engine, it's free here:
http://www.dadiepiombo.it/images/stories/dp/basic2.html

There is a limited unit builder but that's one thing I expect to improve lot before "final release."evilleMonkeighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11998198938697175335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8394074963215462822.post-91326187663258959022015-01-06T13:49:46.231-08:002015-01-06T13:49:46.231-08:00Very informative review.
